Basic Principle

The gases to be analyse absorb energy in the infrared part of the electromagnetic spectrum. This absorption is highly selective, occurring at specific wavelengths corresponding to the resonant wavelengths of bond vibrations within the molecule.

Measuring at a characteristic absorption wavelength enables the detection of the gas, the strength of the absorption gives a measure of the gas concentration.

The analyser works as a stand-alone unit or can be connect via RS232 to a PC/notebook. The software IR-Scan is assigned for data acquisition and data analysis.
